Paul Lynas is the musical alter ego of architect Linas Stempuzis

He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and now lives in San Francisco. Paul Lynas spent his early years playing guitar and bass in high school garage bands. He collaborated with two other musicians exploring the realm of vocals and acoustic guitar music in college. Artists like Crosby Stills and Nash, John Fahey and Leo Kottke opened the door to what acoustic guitar music could be like using multiple guitar tunings.

Paul Lynas continued to study and compose music throughout his architectural career in somewhat of a bubble because of the demands of his time as an architect. There was no expressed interest to pursue a musical career but there was a desire to find an original musical voice and to tap into the musical creative process that intersected frequently with the architectural design process. Paul would have periods of creativity that were recorded on home devices for future reference. He continues to be influenced by new contemporary artists that influence his work in immeasurable ways.
